LLRM TOOL DISCUSSION

On June 25, a working meeting was held, the aim of which was to entitle the document describing the dangers of communities and that would not contradict to the laws of RA and would be corresponding to the content of the document.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Disaster Risk Reduction National Platform Fund, the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations, the United Nations Development Programme, World Vision, LORE Rescue Team, Crisis Management State Academy and the UN Office for Humanitarian Assistance.
At the end of the discussion, the document was entitled “The community disaster risk management Certificate”.

FIELD TRAINING AT SHIRAK MARZ

On June 24, in the frame of the project “Building Resistant local communities in Georgia and Armenia”, a field training was held in Kaps community, Shirak Region, which is funded by the European Commission Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection office (DIPECHO).

The aim was
• Improve and strengthen community response teams theoretical and practical knowledge on DRR.
• Strengthen and enhance inter-municipal cooperation level.
The training was attended by 18 community-based volunteer response teams. The teams demonstrated their knowledge and training skills, by implementing the first aid to injured, crossing river in strong stream conditions, removal of injured out of the car and DRR testing.
The training was led by the Shirak Regional Rescue Department, the Armenian Red Cross Society and LORE rescue team.

DRR Project Closing Event in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic

Օn June 25 “National Platforms for DRR: Enhancing cooperation and coordination within the context of preparedness and prevention” project closing event was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic. The event has been organized by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic and the German Committee for DRR (DKKV). The project has been implemented jointly with the Secretariat of the National Platform for Disaster Reduction of the Kyrgyz Republic.

GEORGIAN DELEGATION VISITED MINISTRY OF TERRITORIAL ADMINISTRATION AND EMERGENCY SITUATION OF RA

In the framework of the regional program “Contribution to the resilience of communities” funded by the European Commission’s humanitarian aid and civil protection office of disaster preparedness (DIPECHO) for South Caucasus, Georgian delegation has arrived in Armenia.
The visit is aimed at exchanging experience between Armenian and Georgian counterparts.

On June 11, the delegation met with the Minister of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations (MTAES) and the representatives of Disaster Risk Reduction National Platform Fund(DRR NP).
In the brief, MTAES and DRR NP’s history and the past was submitted to the Georgian colleagues, at the end, the delegation visited the Crisis Management Center.
The same program envisages the Armenia’s delegation to visit Georgia in July.
The office of Oxfam Armenia was the author of this initiative.

DIPECHO partners in Armenia formed an online newspaper on “Children safety issues on DRR preparation of DIPECHO”

The European Commission’s humanitarian aid and civil protection office, in the frame of Disaster Preparedness Programme (DIPECHO) , the partners of DIPECHO in Armenia made an online newspaper on “Child’s safety issues in preparation works for DRR of DIPECHO.

It enables DRR stakeholders to get acquainted with DIPECHO partners work, relating to child safety issues.

WORKSHOP OF EXPERTS FOR DEVELOPMENT OF GUIDELINE “ DISASTER RISK MANAGEMENT AT SCHOOL”

On May 22-23, a workshop of experts for development of guideline “Disaster Risk Management at school” was held. The workshop was organized, in the frame of DIPECHO project, by World Vision Armenia, UN Child’s Fund and Disaster Risk Reduction National Platform.

The main purpose of Disaster Risk Management at school is to assist schools and preschool institutions of Armenia to develop, implement, evaluate and review the disaster preparedness and the response plan.
