On October 18 – 21, with the initiative of Ministry of Emergency Situations Gegharkunik Marz Regional Rescue department and Regional Administration staff Education department the training for school directors was held.
The training goal was the methodological assistance to schools in DRR and Emergency Situations Action plan development.
To achieve the goal, first the model plan for the school was introduced, after which the development formats were discussed.
On October 20-21 a meeting-training was held in the office of Kapan Aarhus Centre , the main objective of which was to apply the self-assessment tool for local governmental bodies (UNISDR «Making cities resilient: My City is Getting Ready” global campaign) together with Kapan governmental body.
The meeting-training was organized by UN Development Programme, DRR National Platform, Ministry of Emergency Situations and Kapan Municipality. It was funded by the European Commission’s Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection department under the Disaster Preparedness Programme (DIPECHO) and was implemented by UNDP “Strengthen Community Based Resilience and Environmental Emergency Preparedness Capacities in Armenia” programme.

On October 18 an introductory seminar on ”Basics of Disaster Risk Management” was organized and carried out for Dilijan DRR Community Platform (DRR CP) members․
The aim/objective of the seminar was to introduce the international approaches of disaster risk management and its localization format.
The following topics were introduced during the seminar:
• Sustainable development goals and Sendai Framework for Action,
• “Making Cities Resilient” global campaign of UNISDR
• ”Disaster Risk Management. DRR component inclusion in development processes”.
• Disaster Risk Management international approaches and Armenian experience.
The seminar was attended by 29 participants, 16 men and 13 women.
On 18th October training of trainers (ToT) on Educational Institutions’ Disaster Risk Reduction and Emergency Situation Action Plan in the frame of “Ensuring children’s safety through building resilience of communities and education institutions” DRR NP Foundation and United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) joint project funded by European Commission’s Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection (ECHO) is organized in RA MES Crisis Management State Academy.
