March 12-17, 2018: The “Pre-school Educational Institutions’ Disaster Risk Management Plan” draft was piloted in 4 kindergardens of Stepanavan, Lori region.
The objective of the process was to identify the existing gaps in the Kindergartens’ DRM draft plan and taking these into consideration while finalizing it.
The piloting was carried out within the framework of the “Strengthening Disaster Risk Reduction National Platform Capacities in Armenia” project, implemented by UNDP and DRR National Platform Foundation and funded by the DG European Commission’s Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection Department (ECHO).
March 17, 2018: Coordination meeting was held within the frame of ECHO funded “Strengthening of DRR National Platform Capacities in Armenia” project organized by Ministry of Emergency Situations, DRR National Platform Foundation, UNDP and World Bank.
Purpose – To discuss and agree on the conceptual approach of Monitoring Information System for DRM Strategy and set of suggested indicators for monitoring the implementation of the Strategy.
The participants were ARNAP Thematic group on DRM Strategy Monitoring and Evaluation, Minister of Emergency Situations, Heads of Regional Departments of MES (via Skype video call, higher management and key personnel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations involved in the implementation and monitoring of DRM Strategy, ARNAP stakeholders (UNDP, World Bank, UNICEF, Armenian Red Cross Society, Save the Children, OxyGen, etc.) engaged in the monitoring of implementation of Sendai Framework in Armenia.

26.02-03.03.2018: The “Preschool Educational Institutions’ Disaster Risk Management Plan” draft, which was developed by the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations with the support of Save the Children’s Office in Armenia, was piloted.
This time, the pilot was implemented in 1, 4 and 9 kindergartens in Kapan community within the frame of “Strengthening Disaster Risk Reduction National Platform Capacities in Armenia” programme, implemented by UN Development Programme (UNDP) and DRR National Platform foundation (DRR NP), funded by the DG European Commission’s Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection Department (ECHO).
