The “Disaster Risk Reduction National Platform”/ARNAP Foundation is launching a new project. The main goal of the project is to support local-self governments to establishing and effective managing the disaster risk management fund in the context of developing community-based disaster risk management and emergency response capacity.
It also aims to increase the social responsibility of the community residents and their awareness of their role in the community issues.
Disaster risk reduction is part of sustainable development, requiring a community-based and multi-sectoral approach. Thus, the best way of enhancing disaster preparedness is educating the citizens, by providing information that can help during emergencies.
UNDP in Armenia ImpactAim Venture Accelerator team jointly with partners from ISTC Foundation and Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF), has created a new practical tool for citizens – patrast.am, aimed to educate and ensure disaster response preparedness among the young and adult population of Armenia.
